Vision 3 Grow
Vision
Our vision is to Love, Grow, Serve, Go.
Love God, Grow in faith, Serve others, and Go change the world
What if you found your purpose in the local Church?
What if you didn’t have to wonder if you have a purpose, but you knew that purpose?
What if you didn’t have to search for fulfilment, but fulfilment found you?
What if you were able to say confidently, “I am gifted,” and offered the opportunity to go use your gift for God.
This is Our Hope for You
Step 2 is all about discovering the unique gifts that are inside of you.
YOU ARE UNIQUE! Today at STEP TWO, our hope is that you understand how your uniquely designed personality, along with the spiritual gifts God has given you, help reveal the path to God’s plan for your life. Proverbs 25:2 says it is God’s privilege to conceal things and our privilege to discover them. Today, we want to discover what God wants to do through you to make a positive difference in the world.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10 (English Standard Version)
Lord, let us discover those good works you have prepared. Help us walk in these good works.
THE GOAL OF THIS CLASS:
The goal of this class is a two-part understanding of God’s purpose.
First, my goal is to discover how my God-given design helps to reveal my destiny.
Second, I want to discover the amazing potential of my life.
If you can do those two things today, you’ll walk out of here on a road to fulfillment in God’s Kingdom that you never thought possible. Because your design, your destiny, and your potential set you up to do what Jesus did, to love like Jesus loved, and to make a difference as Jesus made a difference.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” John 14:12 (New King James Version)
Your gift is something you were designed to do and when you use it these 2 things happen.
First: It is easy for you, because it comes naturally. (Other people might take a lot of time to acquire the same skills that seem easily for you, because God created you with that gift.)
Second: It’s fulfilling to you. (It touches the lives of others, and that touches the heart of God)
We need to know our gift!
There are about several texts in the New Testament alone that lists different kinds of gifts. We have included a list _______ for you to study later.
It my responsibility as a minister to equip you as God’s people to do His work and to build up the Church, the Body of Christ. It is our job today to help you discover the uniqueness and the characteristics that make you who you are, so you are better equipped to serve in His kingdom.
We have 2 profiles for you take today.
#1 a personality profile
#2 A spiritual gifts profile
As we go through these profile questions, I want you to think about your UNIQUE GIFTS and your PASSIONS.
The best thing for all of us, is for you to be in an area that you are gifted by God to do and that you are passionate about.
What do I mean by passion?
When you walk into a room you see that room according to your gift and passions. If you are an administrative type person you will see how that row of chairs needs to be straightened. If you are a compassionate merciful person you are going to see the person sitting by themselves. If you are a leader you are going to say I would like to see this change happen. You see these things through your passion.
We want your gifts and passion on display at Redemption Church
I also want you to think about your life experiences. Because we believe that you have learned some things and there some things you’ve learned living on earth that you could contribute to the body of Christ.
Some of you have already learned good technical skills and we need need to get you on one of our cameras.
Some of you have worked with kids before and really like it, and maybe need to be involved in children’s ministry.
Some of you are administrative, and you can figure out how to do things more efficiently..
We want you to use your life experiences.
God will even use your negative experiences. God can REDEEM that past struggle and turn it into a testimony.
Your past does not disqualify you. Your experience often enhances your usability.
Write this down on the bottom of page 3
My purpose in life is to serve my God by using my gifts to serve others.
Let’s turn to page 6 where we have 20 questions meant to help you identify your personality traits and leadership style.

Spiritual Gifts
The second assessment that follows will help you discover your spiritual gifts. And yes, you do have them!
Spiritual gifts are not natural aptitudes, they are not your strengths or abilities, they are not character traits, they aren’t titles or positions you’ve been given. Spiritual gifts are God-given. And they were given to you by God for a purpose. They are “spiritual” gifts because they go far beyond your natural giftings!
As you go through the following test, prayerfully consider the results and what God could be speaking to you.
As in the first assessment, go with your first response. Don’t talk yourself into or out of an answer. The more honest you are, the more accurate your results will be.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGEtHER
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”
Hebrews 12:1-2
It is time to run. Lay aside the things that weigh you down and run the race that God has set before us.
We want you to run in your gifting!
- Right down your personality type and leadership style. Take note if you are people oriented or task oriented, if you are reserved or outgoing)
- Right down your two primary spiritual gifts or natural abilities from the profile.
- Right down 2 areas that you are experienced and/or passionate about.
- Think about the results. Does this make some things make sense? Does this give you a better insight to your strengths and weaknesses? (I hope you see a correlation between your PERSONALITY and GIFTING.)
- Consider the opportunities. Does this clarify some ways and places you can make a difference?
- Find ways to grow. Join the Dream Team and serve in an area where your gifting is an asset. Join a small group where you can learn more and grow in your gifting!
As our worship team comes I want us to lay aside our booklet.
On the next page is a list of teams you can join at Redemption. We hope that as you read through it your God given destiny will jump off the page. I am going to want you to look, dream, and pray about your place of service.
You can do this at your convenience and this will be the focus of Step 4 where you will actually be able to join the Dream Team.
BUT RIGHT NOW I want us to ask God about what He would have us do.
Psalm 139:13-14 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Personality tests and gifting evaluations are great, but there is nothing like hearing straight from God what He has purposed you for.
Do you desire to hear God today and receive direction from Him?
Come right now. Come pray together.
God you know my inmost being. I am fearfully and wonderfully made by you.
God order our steps according to Your will.
