Power Up 3 – Kratos Dominion

Welcome to Redemption Church in Plano, Tx. We are glad to have you with us for our new series.

 

We are in the 3rd week of our power up series.

 

What is the deadliest video game character of all time.

 

Statistics predict that no other character in video game history has killed more players than the most basic, ordinary, Goomba from the first level of Super Mario Brothers.

-Not paying attention
-Learning the controls
-Pushing the wrong button

What defeats us the most is not the boss battles, but the simple, basic, gameplay of life.

What is your Goomba?

• Temptation?
• Discipline?
• Temper?

Lord let us have victory over the thing that keeps on defeating us.

 

Power Up – an object that adds temporary benefits or extra abilities to the player

God has power ups for us.

Week 1 – Dynamis – Power & Ability.  This is a Power that works WITHIN YOU.

Week 2 – Exousia – Authority & Right. This is a Authority that works ABOVE YOU.

Today I want to talk to you about a Power OVER OTHER POWERS that allows you to GO THROUGH.

Kratos – Dominion

What is dominion?
Sovereign or supreme authority; the power of governing.

Kingdom Dominion – Dominion is exercising the power of ownership of a Kingdom domain

Dominion is exercising the power of ownership of a Kingdom domain.

Adam & Eve had dominion

Genesis 1:28 (NIV) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Adam & Eve had a dominion power over the earth and throughout the earth.

 

Abraham, through the covenant promise of God, had dominion.

Genesis 13:17 (NIV) Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.”

Abraham you are not just taking a walk… you are walking in dominion. You are laying claim to the land with every footstep.

Later God gave this promise to Moses…

Deuteronomy 11:24-25 (NIV) 24 Every place where you set your foot will be yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea. 25 No one will be able to stand against you. The Lord your God, as he promised you, will put the terror and fear of you on the whole land, wherever you go.

This same promise is then given to Joshua…

Joshua 1:3 (NIV) I will give you every place where you set your foot…

Adam & Eve, Abraham, Moses, Joshua… they had dominion.

They did not just exist in the location, they took ownership of the location for the Kingdom of God.

When you have dominion, where you are is where God’s Kingdom is

 

David…

A young shepherd boy named David was delivering a lunch to his brothers when he heard the taunts of a giant named Goliath.

When David walked out on the field of Elah to battle a giant…

  -his brothers did not think he belonged there.

  -king Saul did not think he was equipped to be there.

  -the giant was insulted because David was too small and young.

But David shows us what dominion looks like. He looks at the giant and declares that Goliath is the one who does not belong here.  David knew that he had a DOMINION right to be where he stood, and thought to himself, “well since I’m here, I might as well beat this giant and lay claim to the promise of God.”

 

Kingdom Dominion – Dominion is exercising the power of ownership of a Kingdom domain

When you have Dominion power, you are never just present… The Kingdom of God is present.

Let me explain what that means…

-UNPEACEFUL PLACE – You are able to walk in and bring the peace of God’s kingdom.

-Depression and addiction – You are able to exercise the power of God’s kingdom of freedom.

-Spirits creating havoc – God has said “I will give you everyplace you set your foot.”

 

When you have dominion you don’t retreat, you go forward and win.

When you have dominion, you have the right to be there, the enemy must leave.

 

Kratos – Dominion

Dominion is exercising the power of ownership of a Kingdom domain. And no one does it better than Jesus…

 

Jesus has all dominion

Revelation 5:13 (NIV) “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power(KRATOS), for ever and ever!”

Judge 25 (NIV) To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion G2904 and power, both now and ever. Amen.

JESUS HAS ALL KRATOS DOMINION.

 

Dominion is power OVER to go THROUGH

 

Jesus has power over…

• He walked upon the water. Most people walk IN THE WATER… Jesus walks upon the water. 
• Jesus showed that he had power OVER the storm.
• Power over death, hell, and the grave.

 

Jesus had the power to go through…

• The pharisees never stopped Him, He went right through them.
• The Roman government could not stop Him, He had a right of the Kingdom of God.
• The devil himself could not stop Jesus, He had dominion and went right through that enemy.

 

Jesus has all Kratos Dominion… what does he do with this dominion?  He gives it to us.

 

Ephesians 6:10 INIV) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power(KRATOS).

Be strong in the Lord and in HIS MIGHTY DOMINION.

Who’s dominion?

 

My dominion is not worth a sermon. Your dominion won’t get you very far.

Adam & Eve were given dominion in Genesis 1, and by Genesis 3 they had lost it when they came under the authority of the serpent.

BUT WHEN JESUS GIVES YOU HIS DOMINION…

 

HIS DOMINION

You can walk on the water with Jesus.
You can lay claim to the Kingdom with Jesus.
You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.
His dominion will call you out of a grave.
His dominion will cause a legion of demons to flee.

His dominion will cause you to have POWER OVER so that you can go THROUGH.

Are you living by your dominion or His?
Are you living by your authority or His?
Are you living by your power or His?

When you walk in His Dominion…

• Work
• School
• Home

 

I want us to think back to that first Goomba…

 

How could the lamest character in all of Mario defeat so many…

All it takes is to avoid it…
To jump on it…
Do not let it walk on you…

Now think back to the Garden of Eden. That serpent is a lot like the first Goomba…

That serpent did not have dominion… Adam and Eve had dominion…

They listened to the Goomba and treated it like it knew better than God… they end up loosing their dominion to a being who had no dominion.

It looked like it was game over… but Jesus came and He operated in dominion.

Jesus brought us the Kingdom of God…

 

What is your first Goomba?

God can give you dominion over it…
