RISE 5 – From the Grave to the Sky: Find Your Higher Purpose
There was a time when all I wanted was to get back to “normal.”
To climb out of the mess I was in. To feel steady again.
-After the Covid outbreak…
-After the job loss…
-After the relationship explosion…
-After the health scare
And honestly, when you’ve hit rock bottom, just getting back to your feet feels like a victory.
But here’s what I’ve learned:
God didn’t raise me to get me back to zero.
He raised me to rise higher than I ever imagined.
There’s a difference between leaving the grave… and soaring like an Eagle.
This whole series has been about rising:
- Out of death
- Out of sin
- Out of fear
- Out of failure
- Out of shame
Today, instead of talking about crawling out of a grave, we are going to talk about how far you can rise.

But what if you weren’t just meant to rise from something low…
What if you were meant to rise into something high?
Gallup 2023 report – only 21% of people worldwide feel engaged in their work
What does this mean?
80% feel disconnected from any meaningful daily purpose.
That doesn’t just speak to our jobs and financial strategies—that speaks to our souls, skills, abilities, calling.
Many of us aren’t living low because of sin—we’re living low because of low expectations.
People that are buried are 6 feet under.
God wants more than…
-Raising you 2 inches.
-Raising you 1 foot.
-Rasing you even with the ground.
-God wants to raise you higher than you expect or understand.
You weren’t just raised out of the grave—you were launched into a new reality. BORN AGAIN!
Whatever your grave is… Fear, Failure, Your Past, your debt, your issues… God wants to do so much more than barely lift you. He wants to launch you.
I want to show you three bold truths from Scripture that will shift how you see your life, your calling, and your future:

1. You’re Not Just Forgiven — You’re Seated in Royalty
How many know God forgives?
Can we take 1 moment and thank God for forgiveness!
Ephesians 2:6 (NIV):
“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”
This isn’t poetic—it’s spiritual reality.
When does this take place?
For those who have been raised WITH Jesus and are IN Jesus, this scripture is in the PAST TENSE.
You are not groveling for grace—you are seated with King Jesus in victory.
👑 Seated means your position is secure.
👑 Seated means the battle is already won.
👑 Seated means you don’t lead from fear—you lead from favor.
Colossians 3:1–2 (NIV):
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above…”
🎯 Declare this: I’m not begging for scraps—I’m seated at the King’s table.

Know the difference between surviving and thriving?
…Barely making it and winning at life.
…living pay check to pay check and building a future.
Jesus gives us so much more than the power to survive.
Romans 8:11 (NIV):
“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”
Let that land:
The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now lives inside you.
🔥 You’re not running on willpower.
🔥 You’re running on resurrection power.

Jesus wasn’t hyping up His disciples—He was setting His ceiling as Your floor.
Get a HIGHER VISION of GREATER!
⚡ You were designed to carry Jesus’ power into your family, your school, your work, your world.
A GREATER YOU is His plan!

- What calling have you buried?

Jesus didn’t rise so you could retreat—He rose so you could run.
He didn’t rise to restore your comfort—He rose to ignite your calling.
Start dreaming again.
Pray bold again.
Bravely build again.

Let’s stop asking for what we can manage and start asking for what only He can do.
Let’s stop praying to avoid feeling powerless… Let’s pray to walk in His power.
Let’s stop falling into graves and trying to climb out… Let’s soar on the wings of Eagles.
Let’s raise kids with bold faith.
Let’s live generously, love sacrificially, pray dangerously, and serve relentlessly.
Let’s not just rise—let’s soar.
